Concussion Roulette: Safety and Peak Performance for Youth Athletes
Concussions are a serious brain injury. They are expected to affect over 5 million middle and high school athletes this year. The force of a head blow can cause bleeding and swelling to the brain and have long lasting effects.
As a free community service, Dr. Annette Zivkovic will present this vital information to your group of 5(+) in an informative and entertaining presentation. There is a quick 10-minute presentation or a more in-depth 30 minute presentation available.
Your group will learn:
1. Why standard testing for concussion is ambiguous and dangerous and has a 40% error rate, and about the new FDA approved medical technology available for baseline testing;
2. Why an undiagnosed concussion may be affecting your child's grades;
3. Why mild head trauma can lead to up to a 3X greater incidence of ACL tears.
Parents, grandparents, coaches, booster clubs and anyone involved in youth sports is urged to arrange a presentation of this important workshop. Limited times are available; please RSVP at (904) 278-4888, or email us at [email protected].
